EPSO

European Personnel Selection Office is the office which is devoted to "select" personnel for the EU staff, not only for the EU Commission, but also for the EU Parliament and a lot of other collateral organizations, such as the "so called" agencies.

It is an electronic system. First admission, it is a nightmare to use it, you can loose days trying to use EPSO System to enroll an exam or a selection, but when you have done the first thing, then you can also use the same profile for all the next years.

EPSO is used for temporary agents and permanent agents. Temporary stands for agents (officers and assistants) who have a limited time contract. The first assumption is that is not so difficult to have a renewed contract if you have done a good job , so don't worry, an experience in the EU offices is always a valuable experience for any other future project.

EU Commission

In the past few days I have partecipated to a number of selections. I've been for a couple of years a servant (as "Support Staff") at the ITER Project. What I have seen during the past years have been the number of stupid things can happen in a such large organization.
So I started this blog, trying to explain how and why the EU Commission works in a so complicated way.
If you read a EU brochure seems to be moved to a parallel word where language and space and time are really strange, all things are really abstracton of the real word. In the EU Commission every can happen, the problem is to choose time and place where to create the occasion.

The Commission have more or less 20.000 People world wide, most of them in Europe, others all around the word.
